What I’m Seeing in Indonesia’s Prop Firm Market

What I’m Seeing in Indonesia’s Prop Firm Market

I’ve been looking into the prop trading space in Indonesia recently, and one thing stood out pretty quickly.

There’s already real demand here.

Around 3,600 people search for prop firms every month. The growth is also strong, around 5x year over year, which puts Indonesia among the fastest-growing markets globally. It’s also ranked in the top 3 worldwide in terms of search interest.

Those numbers don’t look like a market that needs to be built from zero.

But when you look at the actual experience traders go through, there’s a clear gap.

Where Things Don’t Line Up

Most Indonesian traders today still end up using foreign prop firm platforms.

On paper, that sounds fine. In reality, there are a few things that don’t really fit.

Payments are one of the biggest ones. Local methods like QRIS are already widely used here, but many platforms don’t support them. That alone creates friction at the first step.

Language is another factor. A lot of platforms still don’t provide Indonesian localization, which affects how users understand the rules, the risks, and the overall process.

Then there’s trust.

In markets like Indonesia, trust is not just about branding. It comes from familiarity. Local context matters. When that’s missing, users hesitate, even if the offer itself is solid.

These aren’t small issues. They show up directly in how users behave, especially when it comes to conversion.

What This Means for the Market

From what I’ve seen, the traffic side is already working.

People are searching, exploring, and showing interest. The problem starts after that point.

Users enter the funnel, but the experience doesn’t fully match how they expect things to work. That’s where drop-offs happen.

So the opportunity here is less about attracting attention, and more about making the experience actually fit the market.

Payments, onboarding flow, language, trust signals. These are the areas that seem to matter the most.

Why We Built FundedTrading.id

This is the reason me and my team decided to launch FundedTrading.id.

The idea was simple.

Create a place where Indonesian traders can explore and compare prop firms with better context. Not just listings, but something that feels more relevant to how users here think and decide.

At the same time, it gives us a closer look at how the market behaves.

What people search for, what they care about, where they hesitate, and what builds confidence.

The more we see, the more it confirms the same thing.

The activity is already there. It just hasn’t been served properly yet.

Final Thoughts

Indonesia is already active in the prop trading space.

The demand is visible, and the growth is consistent.

The part that still needs work is how that demand is being handled on the ground.

For anyone looking at this market, execution at the local level seems to make the biggest difference.
